The “Angels of Culture” Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit organization, working to preserve the European architectural influence on modern Bulgaria. In present day Bulgaria, the old buildings from the first half of the 20th century are being demolished constantly and without mercy. An entire period of Bulgarian and European history is being destroyed every day.

We established “Angels of Culture” foundation with the desire to save these Bulgarian architectural jewels from further destruction and to present them to the European public.. These buildings represent the influence of European architecture on Bulgaria at the end of 19th century. They contain the memories of their creators, the spirit of more than one generation, as well as of many human destinies and historical turnarounds. These are buildings that have preserved their dignity and splendor, beneath the tattered disguise of our negligence. They contain important cultural messages.

Our activities are dedicated to:

• Supporting the digitalsation of the archive of old historic buildings in Bulgaria – The Old Buildings Fund
• Documentation through photographs of buildings at risk for The Old Buildings Fund.
• Raising awareness worldwide of the precious architectural monuments in Bulgaria.
• Restoration of demolished buildings with the help of professional experts, volunteers
• Fundraising for the “Architectural Heritage Fund”, which is the part of the foundation that will help restore endangered buildings.
• Establishing programs for young people in Bulgaria and Europe.
• Organizing historical tours of old buildings.
• Partnering with sister organizations with similar activities worldwide.

We are seeking donations and grants from individuals and organisations that value the preservation of architectural heritage and wish to support our activities.
