1. Obituary

On May 31, 2005 was demolished without residue the Nikola Mushanov’s house at 47 Moskovska Street in Sofia. Built around 1925 Declared in 1978 as an architectural and artistic monument of culture. According to the Cultural Monuments Law, this status protected her from destruction. Eternal memory of the monument!

2. Remembrance

 In 1994 the Old Sofia Municipality at Gurko Street in Sofia was demolished without residue.  Built around 1895, it was declared an architectural monument of culture. According to the Law of  cultural monuments, this status was should  protected from destruction. In its place was built the Grand Hotel Sofia, whose low floors imitate its facades. Eternal memory of the monument!

3. Remembrance

 In January 2006 was demolished without a trace  the house of Dr. Ganev on 19B Patriarch Evtimiy Blvd. and 6th  Septemvri Str. 47A in Sofia. Built around 1910. Declared in 1976 as a cultural monument of local importance. In its place there is already an 8-storey office building. Eternal memory of the monument!

4. Notice of premature death

 Geshev’s house at 7 Patriarch Evtimiy Blvd. in Sofia. Built on a project by arch. Nikola Lazarov since 1909. Declared a cultural monument in 1978. Since 2003. this building is abandoned in complete negligence. Since the middle of 2005. the ground floor window to the boulevard is provokingly opened.

5. Grief news

 In 2004. the Gorgas House on 10 Oborishte Street in Sofia was completely demolished. Built in 1908-1909. on the project of arch. G. Fingov and Arch. K. Marichkov (until 2003 was the Legation of the Libyan Jamahiriya). Announced in 1976. for an architectural monument of culture of local importance. In its place, a very functional complex is being built, in which the likeness of an authentic monument will be built. Eternal memory of the monument!

6. Grief news

 In May 2005. was destroyed without remnant The Proshekovo beer brewery on San Stefano Street in Sofia. Built in 1884. An emblematic site for the industrial heritage of Sofia. An architectural monument of the “Information” category, removed from the lists of protected buildings. In its place a new multifunctional complex is being built. Eternal memory of the monument!
